“Field of Symbols” – Hand-Illustrated Cow Skull

$575.00

My work transforms ethically sourced bone into narrative surface. I draw directly onto the skull, allowing the natural curves and textures to guide the imagery. Botanical forms, celestial symbols, and animal motifs intertwine as a meditation on cycles — growth, decay, preservation, and rebirth.

“Field of Symbols” is a one-of-one, hand-illustrated cow skull exploring the intersection of nature, folklore, and inner mythology.

Botanical forms weave through celestial markings and animal symbolism, layered in fine ink detail across the natural surface of bone. Subtle accents of turquoise, ochre, and muted earth tones create contrast against the aged ivory of the skull, while darkened horns wrapped in raw rope add a grounding, tactile element.

The piece balances precision and organic movement — structured symbolism dissolving into flowing linework, much like nature reclaiming ritual.

Each mark is drawn directly onto the bone, making replication impossible. The skull becomes both canvas and relic — an artifact reimagined.
